About This Project

Rick and Jeff are a directing and choreography team for stage and screen. Originally from Toronto, they grew up together training in the dance studio, in the dojo, and on film sets. Rick went on to study psychology and dramatic arts at Harvard, and Jeff to study English literature and theater at Princeton. The duo has directed award-winning shorts, commercials, and music videos for artists like Jesse Malin & Billie Joe Armstrong, Anthony D’Amato, and Miracles of Modern Science. Their recent work on film can be seen on “Living with Yourself” with Paul Rudd (Netflix), “DICKS: The Musical”,  and in Silent Retreat (Miramax) In addition to their work for camera, the brothers create theater in New York and internationally.

Rick and Jeff received their first TONY nomination in April of 2024 for choreographing the new Broadway musical “The Outsiders” based on the book and movie of the same name. They are co-directing & choreographing a new immersive show with the producers of “Sleep No More”.

Recent highlights include choreographing Alice by Heart (Lortel, Chita Rivera and Callaway Award for Outstanding Choreography; Drama Desk nom), Cyrano with Peter Dinklage and music by The National (New Group & Goodspeed), A$AP Rocky’s Lab Rat, Phish at Madison Square Garden, and fight directing & choreographing both Frank Wildhorn’s The Count of Monte Cristo in Saint Petersburg, Russia and Broadway Asia’s immersive Peter Pan in Beijing. The Hollywood Reporter calls their work “consistently inventive” while Variety calls it”imaginative… dreamlike and ritualistic.” Vulture praises their work as “witty and athletic,” and, in Netflix’s Living with Yourself as work that “immediately stands out as an accomplished feat of filmmaking.”
